Dance Workshop (7-11 year olds) 1:30pm-3:30pm

Calling all Viking warriors! Odin and Thor need 12 brave 7-11 year olds to join them on stage for a Viking warrior dance as part of their telling of the Norse Myths. During a two hour workshop, you will learn two Viking warrior sequences which we will rehearse and prepare for the stage. You will open the show with a Viking procession, you will have the closest seats to the stage during the performance, and you will perform your sequence as part of the show when Odin and Thor call you into action.

Information for parents:
The workshop will take place in the Birchcliffe Centre upstairs, which has been fully risk-assessed for the teaching of dance to children. The external door will be secured throughout the duration of the workshop, and toilet facilities are contained within the space meaning that children can and will be supervised at all times. The workshop will be taught by Jamie & Giorgio, both of whom have Enhanced DBS certificates, as well as civil liability insurance policies for the teaching of dance. Jamie is a fully-qualified primary school teacher and provides dance education to 12 primary schools throughout Calderdale & Kirklees. Giorgio is experienced delivering to children and young people and works regularly on the Centre for Advance Training scheme at the Lowry.
Viking choir rehearsal (adults) 12pm-1pm
Calling adult Vikings who like to sing! Odin needs a chorus of Viking voices to join him in song during the Viking warrior invasion at the start of Norse Myths dance performance. If you would you like to join us for an hour to learn and rehearse a Viking song, then please join us at the Birchcliffe centre upstairs from 12pm-1pm where you will receive full instruction for your role in the performance.
